In 2012, our founder was working as a service technician for a large appliance manufacturer. He noticed something troubling: repair appointments that took too long, customers getting overcharged for simple fixes, and technicians incentivized to recommend replacements over repairs.
The turning point came when he met an elderly customer who had been told her washing machine was beyond repair. It turned out to be a £12 part that took 20 minutes to replace.
That moment sparked a simple idea: what if there was a repair service that actually tried to fix things instead of selling new ones?
